May 2026 - New barn goes up on Northwest Rd in Lunenburg Co. This frame was joined in hemlock and features queen posts and a purlin roof system. The timbers were sawn locally by J.A. Turner & Sons and Fred Sweet.
4 bents, 3 bays. The frame was laid out and cut using the square rule method and sits on rough sawn hemlock sill plates.
We used live sawn ash braces in the middle two bents.
The new barn sits on the edge of a pasture between two ash trees, adjacent to the baby barn thats been restored and converted into a bunkie.
